Welcome, Everyday Alchemist
I’m stoked you’ve found your way to Everyday Alchemy, a place where I recount select personal stories from my handwritten journal. Why? Well, it’s bursting with documented magical encounters—the kind of stuff that was once unrecognizable to me. Now I can spot mystery in the mundane. And it’s miraculously morphed the way I move in this world.
Through prose and poetry, I share the practices that are deeply connecting me more to my Self and, in turn, more to beings and things that surround.
My far-out fantasy is that these once-private insights—however minute—inspire you to seek everyday marvels, too. And to celebrate them together here.
Frequency and flavor
Main posts manifest here every second Saturday and are best absorbed in early mornings of quiet solitude. That in-between time before light turns to bright and stillness won’t still for much longer. I aim to make them easy to read and hard to forget.
A Liminal Flicker will debut every last Saturday of the month. Short, shimmery insights. If you blink, you may miss them.
About Amy Elizabeth
If I let my ego write, she’d say, “After two decades in corporate communications creating content for Silicon Valley tech companies, I started writing more for my soul. This unearthed stories on surfing, sensuality, and psychedelics, all finding a home in Good Times, a Santa Cruz, California, weekly.”
The raw elevator pitch? It’d read, “In 2022, one moment marked a split between who I was before and who I was becoming. Each day since, I’ve lived the question, ‘Who am I now?’ writing words as answers come, documenting the journey in a way that feels enlightening, supportive, and hopeful—even if the messages revealed are ones I’d rather keep hidden in the shadows.”
(I do hope to update this bio soon to say that I’m taking a sabbatical where I prioritize a bunch of S-sounding words because I’m a sucker for alliteration: surf, spirituality, sacred sexuality, storytelling, self-study, and psychology.)
Meet the visual alchemical artist, Michelle Beck

For each Everyday Alchemy post, Michelle transmutes the written poem within into a mixed-media masterpiece that adorns the top of the page.
When holding the vision for Everyday Alchemy, I knew I wanted it to exude authenticity. Soulfully made creations. Sans artificial anything. When I asked Michelle to create the poetry visuals, I expected a polite decline. She’s a junior high school art teacher, a wife, and a mother of four girls. How would she have the time?
I’m overjoyed she said yes. And perhaps shouldn’t be so surprised. Her favorite read is The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho. Find her original creations at BecktasticArt here.
